Seth Bailey

Originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, Seth Bailey has been performing since a young age. He played in town bands, All-State Festivals, and was part of all of his high school’s ensembles. Upon graduating high school, Seth was accepted to the University of Rhode Island where he completed a Bachelor’s in Music Education. While at URI Seth was able to continue his passion for trumpet with lessons in Jazz from Mark Berney and Classical tutelage under George Kent. Whilst in RI he performed at churches, local jazz bands, regional orchestras, and was a clinician for Narragansett High School and Westerly High School.


Bailey is a recent graduate of The Hartt School at The University of Hartford, CT, where he completed a Master’s Degree in Trumpet Performance. Seth was then invited back to complete a Graduate Professional Diploma in Performance ending in May, 2015. While at Hartt he studied with Greg Whitaker, Jay Lichtmann, and Kevin Cobb. Currently, Seth performs in the Hartford area in a wide range of genres. He can regularly be heard at the Goodspeed Opera House, St. Joseph’s Cathedral Chamber Orchestra, New London Big Band, as well as Lead Trumpet with the Don Most Show which can be seen at the Iridium and 54 Below in New York City. Seth lives in West Hartford, CT, where he teaches privately. He is a coffee enthusiast and always loves finding new diners to eat at.
