Walker Beard

Originally from El Paso, TX, Walker Beard is a founding member of the Nautilus Brass Quintet and performs regularly with many outstanding ensembles including NOVUS NY, New York Orchestra, The Blanch Moyse Chorale, and the New Bedford Symphony among others. Walker has also performed baroque trumpet with early music ensembles including the Trinity Baroque Orchestra, California Bach Society, and Chora Nova of Berkley California. He held the trumpet professorship at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT from 2013-2016, before leaving to further pursue a career in classical music production at Trinity Wall Street in New York City. There, he is directly involved in the top-to-bottom production of multiple beloved performance series and Grammy-nominated ensembles. Previously, Walker produced an ongoing choral music series for MidAmerica Productions at Carnegie hall, and the Festival of the Aegean at the Apollo Theatre in Syros, Greece.
Walker is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Connecticut in the applied studio of Dr. Louis Hanzlik. In 2010, he completed the Artist Certificate program at UConn in Baroque trumpet performance. Prior to moving to the East Coast, Walker completed a Master of Arts Degree at San Jose State University in Dr. Kathryn Adduci’s trumpet studio, and a Bachelor of Music Degree at the University of North Texas under the direction of Professor John Holt.
